The Challenge
Weekend gaps between Friday close and Monday open capture sentiment shifts, breaking news impact, and overnight positioning changes - but there was no clean way to track and analyse them systematically on TradingView.
We built a PineScript indicator that calculates gap percentages, displays colour-coded labels above weekly candles, provides an 8-week historical summary table, computes running averages, and offers configurable alert thresholds - all while automatically accommodating market holidays.
